Tech support- Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0
Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0.I soon noticed that the new program, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activities. Applications such as BachelorNights 10.3, Cricket 5.0, BeerWithBuddies 7.5 , and Outings 3.6 no longer runs, crashing the system whenever selected. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 5.0 , but the 'uninstall' doesn't work on Wife 1.0.Please help! Thanks, "A Troubled User"
REPLY:
Dear Troubled User: This is a very common problem that people complain about. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0 , thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program.Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 5.0.You cannot go back to Girlfriend 5.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed not to allow this.I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation. The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway.Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean 2.5, Sweep 3.0, Cook 1.5 and DoLaundry 4.2. However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program NagNag 9.5 . Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Sarees 2.1 and Jewellery 5.0 STATUTORY WARNING : DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Secretary With ShortSkirt 3.3 . This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.
Best of luck, Tech Support ...

INDIAN SOFTWARE ENGINEER - A BitterReality...
==================
As the dream of most parents I had acquired a degree in Software
Engineering and joined a company based in USA , the land of braves and
opportunity. When I arrived in the USA , it was as if a dream had come true.
Here at last I was in the place where I want to be. I decided I would be
staying in this country for about Five years in which time I would have
earned enough money to settle down in India .
My father was a government employee and after his retirement, the only
asset he could acquire was a decent one bedroom flat.
I wanted to do some thing more than him. I started feeling homesick and
lonely as the time passed. I used to call home and speak to my parents
every week using cheap international phone cards. Two years passed, two
years of Burgers at McDonald's and pizzas and discos and 2 years
watching the foreign exchange rate getting happy whenever the Rupee
value went down.
Finally I decided to get married. Told my parents that I have only 10
days of holidays and everything must be done within these 10 days. I got
my ticket booked in the cheapest flight. Was jubilant and was actually
enjoying hopping for gifts for all my friends back home. If I miss
anyone then there will be talks. After reaching home I spent home one
week going through all the photographs of girls and as the time was
getting shorter I was forced to select one candidate.
In-laws told me, to my surprise, that I would have to get married in 2-3
days, as I will not get anymore holidays. After the marriage, it was
time to return to USA , after giving some money to my parents and telling
the neighbors to look after them, we returned to USA .
My wife enjoyed this country for about two months and then she started
feeling lonely. The frequency of calling India increased to twice in a
week sometimes 3 times a week. Our savings started diminishing.
After two more years we started to have kids. Two lovely kids, a boy and a
girl, were gifted to us by the almighty. Every time I spoke to my parents, they
asked me to come to India so that they can see their grand-children.
Every year I decide to go to India .. But part work part monetary
conditions prevented it. Years went by and visiting India was a distant
dream. Then suddenly one day I got a message that my parents were
seriously sick. I tried but I couldn't get any holidays and thus could
not go to India .. The next message I got was my parents had passed away
and as there was no one to do the last rights the society members had
done whatever they could. I was depressed. My parents had passed away
without seeing their grand children.
After couple more years passed away, much to my children's dislike and
my wife's joy we returned to India to settle down. I started to look for
a suitable property, but to my dismay my savings were short and the
property prices had gone up during all these years. I had to return to
the USA ..
My wife refused to come back with me and my children refused to stay in
India .. My 2 children and I returned to USA after promising my wife I
would be back for good after two years.
Time passed by, my daughter decided to get married to an American and my
son was happy living in USA .. I decided that had enough and wound-up
every thing and returned to India . I had just enough money to buy a
decent 02 bedroom flat in a well-developed locality.
Now I am 60 years old and the only time I go out of the flat is for the
routine visit to the nearby temple. My faithful wife has also left me
and gone to the holy abode.
Sometimes I wondered was it worth all this? My father, even after
staying in India , had a house to his name and I too have the same
nothing more.
I lost my parents and children for just ONE EXTRA BEDROOM.
Looking out from the window I see a lot of children dancing.
This damned cable TV has spoiled our new generation and these
Children are losing their values and culture because of it. I get
Occasional cards from my children asking I am alright. Well at least they remember me.
Now perhaps after I die it will be the neighbors again who will be
Performing my last rights, God Bless them. But the question still
remains 'was all this worth it?'
I am still searching for an answer.................!!!

Bill Gates Session
Bill Gates thanked all the candidates for coming and asking those who do not know JAVA program to leave.2000 people leave the room. Arun says to himself, 'I do not know JAVA but I have nothing to lose if I stay. I'll give it a try'
Bill Gates asked the candidates who never had experience of managing more than 100 people to leave. 2000 people leave the room. Arun says to himself ' I never managed anybody by myself but I have nothing to lose if I stay. What can happen to me?' So he stays.
Then Bill Gates asked candidates who do not have management diplomas to leave. 500 people leave the room. Arun says to himself, 'I left school at 15 but what have I got to lose?' So he stays in the room.
Lastly, Bill Gates asked the candidates who do not speak Serbo - Croat to leave. 498 people leave the room. Arun says to himself, ' I do not speak one word of Serbo - Croat but what do I have to lose?' So he stays and finds himself with one other candidate. Everyone else has gone.
Bill Gates joined them and said 'Apparently you are the only two candidates who speak Serbo - Croat, so I'd now like to hear you have a conversation together in that language.' Calmly, Arun turns to the other candidate and says 'Kaisa hai re tu' The other candidate answers 'Accha hai re'

Check it out in UNIX-1752 calender
See the explanation for what you
see.Isn't the output queer?A month with whole of eleven days missing. This was
the ti me England shifted from Roman Julian Calendar to the Gregorian calendar,
and the king of England ordered those 11 days to be wiped off the face of the
month of September of 1752. (What couldn't a King do in those days?!) And yes,
the workers worked for 11 days less, but got paid for the entire 30 days. And
that's how "Paid Leave" was born.

Justice delayed- Justice denied
If it is to keep them away from others(so that they don't continue to harm others) and reform them and bring them back to society, then shouldn't the judgment be faster(immd).
For example take sanjay dutts case. He had done a mistake 14yrs back and his case is given final judgement recently. For what? To reform him? How does anybody now that he hasn't reformed in last 14yrs? Why is he allowed to stay in the society if he has done a crime? Couldn't he have done more crimes and couldn't he been a danger to the society?
Manytimes people don't even go to court for the fear of getting stuck for years. I don't know why it should take years...but i definetly believe that there should be a way to solve cases faster.
Image howmuch things can change with faster solving of cases.

Chak de India - MOVIE
Other than the story, what i liked about the movie is the way dialougues are written and the way the story is directed. Its a Movie Well filmed:)
There are no unneccessary songs, item numbers, flights.
These kind of movies are less flimed in our country.
The actresses (16) have all done a good job. I need not speak of KING Khan. He is a great actor.
I just loved the movie.
Its a must watch.

Politics
I have heard of word 'Politicis' only with so much negativity attached to it.
eg: So many politics between them.
Don't play politics.
He is a politician yar..... etc etc
Let me give all the credit to our politicians.
I think its more about attitude change most of us need for a better India. Our acceptance levels for illegal/wrong things are high and Information level about our rights are low.
Now how many of us know that if the MCH doesn't clear the garbage even after complaint..we can sue them.
On the other hand how many of us have drove without lience.
So...Today after 60yrs of Independence, let us all pledge that we will be more disciplined and honest and give our best to the country(which ever way we can).
Be more careful and lets use our Vote wisely too.

Mother, I salute thee!
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
bright with orchard gleams,
Cool with thy winds of delight,
Green fields waving Mother of might,
Mother free.
Glory of moonlight dreams,
Over thy branches and lordly streams,
Clad in thy blossoming trees,
Mother, giver of ease
Laughing low and sweet!
Mother I kiss thy feet,
Speaker sweet and low!
Mother, to thee I bow.
Who hath said thou art weak in thy lands
When swords flash out in seventy million hands
And seventy million voices roar
Thy dreadful name from shore to shore?
With many strengths who art mighty and stored,
To thee I call Mother and Lord!
Thou who saves, arise and save!
To her I cry who ever her foe drove
Back from plain and sea
And shook herself free.
Thou art wisdom, thou art law,
Thou art heart, our soul, our breath
Though art love divine, the awe
In our hearts that conquers death.
Thine the strength that nerves the arm,
Thine the beauty, thine the charm.
Every image made divine
In our temples is but thine.
Thou art Durga, Lady and Queen,
With her hands that strike and her
swords of sheen,
Thou art Lakshmi lotus-throned,
And the Muse a hundred-toned,
Pure and perfect without peer,
Mother lend thine ear,
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
Bright with thy orchard gleems,
Dark of hue O candid-fair
And thy glorious smile divine,
Loveliest of all earthly lands,
Showering wealth from well-stored hands!
Mother, mother mine!
Mother sweet, I bow to thee,
Mother great and free!

Stories
Writting Stories.
Yes. Writting Stories. Real challenge of writting stories is to write them in a way that they appeal for larger group of people.
(Rabindhranath Tagore stories such a hit coz they had universal appeal. He says human emotion is same anywhere in the world..and that is what he tried to touch through his stories)
Stories are everywere. Real stories, fitious, medical, crime stories, Love stories, Romatanic, short stories, moral stories, fiary tales, epics....many more types
We see stories in the form of Movies, Serials, News apart from readin stories in books. They are more in our lives than we actually realise.
They sell in all countries, among all religions and among all age groups. ..coz Human being is naturally curious for stories.
So...use ur imagination (which is specific to human among all the living beings) and try writting a story.

Apni awaz sunaker haale dil bayaan karo,
Hum to rehte hain aap hi ke khayalon mein,
Kabhi aap bhi humara khayal kiya karo.

Agar tumhe mile to utha lena,
Mere hisse ki har khushi hathon mein saja lena.

Facts
Roughly $10 billion sent to pakistan by the US since 2002 in the name of war against terrorism.
what did pak do with this money?
Itseems the weapons bought under this finance are more useful in countering india than fighting Al-qaida and taliban.
Pak used only $ 900 million for health, food, education.
Do you have questions about money in your mind now?:)
Well...i am sorry i don't have answers:)

Without men
Scientists have discovered a way to convert blank cells from a womens bone marrow in to sperm cells. The cells once converted can be injected into her womb to produce babies. This way only female babies can be produced coz y choromozome needed to produce boys is absent in female cells. Point to note the that the whole process of the human production does not involve men.
P.S. Blank cells are a stock of basic cells in the bone marrow which are converted in to different(all) types of cells by and when required by the body. Scientists used these blank cells to produce artifical sperm cells.
For a moment I just wondered how wonderful the world will be with no men :)... but then sometimes they are very much required. They are required to go out and earn while you sit at home and enjoy(make sure you have a male servant to do household work- you can pay from your hubby's pocket). You need men to drive your car while you sit back and n'joy the music...and you need them to carry your shopping bags. haahah :)

Hero
RISK is the story of this police officer who single handedly killed nearly 100 rowdy cheaters and criminals in mumbai, solving every case which came to him. He worked selflessly but in his own style.
When i heard that this police officer is fighting in the court for justice today and is on bail, I felt bad.
Watch the movie if you can. You will understand what i am talking about. Risk hero had done a super job. Its a true story(except climax). And a very inspiring and motivating one.

If I understand it right!
So ..if you are sad about anything...it because you chose to be sad. Don't blame anybody. Only "YOU" can help yourself get out of it.
Sad part is that we set standards to be happy. If i get this..i'll be happy, if i achieve this i will be happy, if i have him/her i will be happy. I don't have those...so i am not happy. Why do you need a reason to be happy?
We got to shed those unnessary emotions...anger, frustation, sadness.... after all you get one live. Then why not Live life king size.

Telangana - Politics
He gave the example of Chatisghar and said that they had more employement after being a saperate state. Than why just Telanga? Why don't we divide state in to 3 or 4 parts. There will be MOREEEEEE employment. Isn't it?
I agree there will be new employement options with govt constructing more buildings, setting up new offices, state banks....etc, but this money will be pulled out of budget which govt should have spend on other devlopment activities. Saperate state will only spoil central budget. Few commodiates prices might rise. Few development activities will be postponed or stopped...etc.
If he is guinenly intrested in devlopment of telangana...why didn't he start any devlopment activities yet. He has enough power even today. Didn't he? I guess he is waiting for a good "murthum". I am sure his intrest is more about the money the center govt will pour. Money enough to fill thier pockets, either relatives and store enough for thier children, grandchildren, greatgrand children. And about more political employment that will grow.
I wish i can do somebody these sick politicians.
I just endup prayin that this kind of politicians should never come to power.

Salary rise
If your Salary is Rs 50,000 in 2002 and Rs 55,000 in 2003...does it mean that your salary has increased? Nominally..YES, but
might not be in REAL terms.
To be more clear...If your Salary is Rs 50,000 in 2002 and Rs 55,000 in 2003but the price level has risen by 12%(inflation) then your Rs 55,000 in 2003 buys what Rs 49,107 would have in 2002, so your real salary has gone done.
Eg: YOu could have bought a bike with Rs 50,000 in 2002 but in 2003 the bike rate has gone up to 62,000...which you can not
buy with your 55,000 Rs salary. Meaning ...your salary has actually gone down.
Similary...think of this point when you are saving money in a bank or investing money in some bonds.
You have fixed deposited 50,000 in a bank for 1yr. Bank promised to pay you 3% intrest. But if the inflation is 4% that year...the bank is actually taking away one percent of your money. Got me?
Suppose we buy a 1 year bond for face value that pays 6% at the end of the year. We pay Rs100 at the beginning of the year and get Rs106 at the end of the year. Thus the bond pays an interest rate of 6%. This 6% is the nominal interest rate, as we have not accounted for inflation. Whenever people speak of the interest rate they're talking about the nominal interest rate, unless they state otherwise.
Now suppose the inflation rate is 3% for that year. We can buy a basket of goods today and it will cost Rs100, or we can buy that basket next year and it will cost Rs 103. If we buy the bond with a 6% nominal interest rate for Rs100, sell it after a year and get Rs106, buy a basket of goods for Rs103, we will have Rs 3 left over. So after factoring in inflation, our Rs100 bond will earn us Rs 3 in income; a real interest rate of 3%.
You can calculate a real salary in terms of some base year by the following: Real salary = Nominal salary / 1 + % Increase in Prices since Base Year
Where a 34% increase in prices since the base year is expressed as 0.34.

Home loans
When banks increase intrest rates..they either increase your Monthly EMI(like 6000Rs a month to 6500 a month) or they increase number of EMIs(Like 5years to 5yrs and 8months)...depending upon your Age and number of service years left.
DO you which of these methods will save you money? NOne. But if you downpay the increase amount at once.(LIke 0.5% hike had made you total payable amount to 6lak 60thousand from 6lak) Pre-Pay the 60thousand if your poket allows you. This way you will be paying the least amount. Banks should not take Pre-Pay penatly...unless you have signed the documents agreeing to pay.

Good and Bad
Down the years I lost little fear. Now i am not dead scared...but i am just very conseious of it.
I don't stop myself if i wanna drink with friends or at home..but because i am conseious i take just 2 large.
I don't stop myself if i wanna dance on road...but because i am conseious i check around.
If i wanna crib and bad mouth somebody i will...but because i am conseious..i ensure it does reach there ears.
I wear so called "fashionable" clothes...but because i am conseious...i ask my friend to wear fashionable clothes too for the party.
I DO not, what is expected of me sometimes. I don't feel guilt...but because i am conseious...i act to be.
If i wanna be rude to somebody JLT..i will be...but because i am conseious..i will get diplomatic.
Like i am getting now.
Good and Bad are relative. Aren't they?
Motivate
And a dreamer's just a vessel that must follow where it goes.
Trying to learn from what's behind you and never knowing what's in storemakes each day a constant battle just to stay between the shores.
And I will sail my vessel 'til the river runs dry.
Like a bird upon the wind, these waters are my sky.
I'll never reach my destination if I never try,So I will sail my vessel 'til the river runs dry.
Too many times we stand aside and let the water slip away.
To what we put off 'til tomorrow has now become today.
So don't you sit upon the shore and say you're satisfied.
Choose to chance the rapids and dare to dance the tides.
Mastering Emotions
If I feel sad I will laugh.
If I feel ill I will double my labour.
If I feel fear I will plunge ahead.
If I feel inferior I will wear new garments.
If I feel uncertain I will raise my voice.
If I feel poverty I will think of wealth to come.
If I feel incompetent I will think of past success.
If I feel insignificant I will remember my goals.
Today I will be the master of my emotions.

Emotions
Have you ever wokeup after a nice dream and felt restless, desperately wanting the dream to come true, that too immediately? It happens with me again and again. There are few things in life that come, stay with you for sometime making your life beautiful and then go away. Thats the way of life, i guess. I indulgued myself into painting, yoga, playing shettel and reading Geeta and kept myself busy to counter the flow of emotions that began with a dream couple of days back.BTw the painting in this picture is being done by ME:) I am oil painting for the first time so i might take another 2 weeks to finish it.
Good news is i am fighting my wrost fears these days. One of it is a stage fear(public speaking). I am told to do MC/ achoring for the Ladies Meet this month. Our Theme is Laughter...so i got to be more lively..hmm...lets c :( :)
Wish me luck guys

New Year and Chirstmas doubt
Whats A.D and B.C. (with respect to time)? Are they After Death(of chirst) and Before Chirst? If so.. what about the time when chirst was on earth? Wasn't it measured at all?
If time was measured with respect to Chirst, shouldn't new year start on 25th Dec rather than 1st jan? why is there 6 days gap?
