Longing...as always

I remember sitting next to half stained window glass on a cold winter afternoon in the remote part of Jammu and Kashmir(In India) gazing in to the skies and longing for whats not there. We were living in wooden house constructed on the hill, among think long pine trees. It had just been 6 months that I left corporate life and I was longing to get back to work. Leisure was as empty as it can be. Its not that I didn't make friends there. I did, I had 4 friends, with whom I went for morning, afternoon and evening walks, we played shuttle, we visited river bed at the foot of the valley and we shared moments of fun. In fact there were 4 families living in that 4 block wooden house and all of them were newly married like we were. But that was the only block which had any families living. Rest of the area was maintained by Armed Forces.

The lush green wetlands, clouds that passed through windows, the musical sound of water from the rushing river at the foot of the valley, bright colored flower all around, slight sways of tall pine wood trees...nothing seemed to amuse me after a while. I wanted to get back to the busy life I once had.

8yrs from then, today again I sit next to window, but this time its a huge crystal clear glass window behind my cubicle in 6th floor of my posh office. Today again I gaze in to drizzling skies and long for whats not there. I now long for long vacations, I now long to trip into those lands where grass is wet and green, wind is fresh, mountains are white and huge, rivers rush and there silence in the air. Now I long to sit on the cliff and gaze into the never ending world.

BTW...am I longing or intensely cherishing the moments of past :-)

Moral Story

A mother and a baby camels were lazing around, and suddenly the baby camel asked .. Baby : Mother, mother, can I ask you some question? Mother: Sure! why son, is there something bothering you? Baby : Why do camel have humps? Mother: Well son, we are desert animals, we need the humps to store water and we are known to survive without water. Baby : Okay, then why are our legs long and our feet rounded? Mother: Son, obviously they are meant for walking in the desert. You know with these legs I can move around the desert better than anyone! Said the mother proudly. Baby : Okay, then why are our eye lashes long? Sometimes it is bothering my sight. Mother: My son, those long thick eye lashes are your protective cover. They help to protect your eyes from the desert sand and wind. Said mother camel with eyes brimmingwith pride. Baby : I see. So the hump is to store water when we are in the desert, the legs are for walking through the desert and these eye lashes protects my eyes from the desert. Then what the hell are we doing here in the Zzzoo??? MORAL OF THE STORY IS :- " SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCES ARE ONLY USEFUL IF YOU ARE AT THE RIGHT PLACE "

Faith. Belief

Two men went fishing. One was an experienced fisherman, the other wasn ' t. Every time the experienced fisherman caught a big fish, he put it in his ice chest to keep it fresh. Whenever the inexperienced fisherman caught a big fish, he threw it back.

The experienced fisherman watched this go on all day and finally got tired of seeing the man waste good fish. ' Why do you keep throwing back all the big fish you catch? ' he asked. The inexperienced fisherman replied, ' I only have a small frying pan. '

Sometimes, like that fisherman, we throwback the big plans, big dreams, big jobs, big opportunities. Our faith is too small.

We laugh at that fisherman who didn ' t figure out that all he needed was a bigger frying pan, yet how ready are we to increase the size of our faith?

Whether it ' s a problem or a possibility, God will never give you anything bigger than you can handle. That means we can confidently walk into anything God brings our way.

REMEMBER:
Stop telling God you ' ve got big problems.Tell your problems you ' ve got a BIG GOD!

So get out there and get a bigger frying pan my dear friends!

Bad Temper - Moral Story

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all.
He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.
The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, 'You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. But It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound will still be there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

Appreciate - Management lessons

One day Maths teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.
It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers. That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual.
On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. "Really?" she heard whispered. "I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!" and, "I didn't know others liked me so much," were most of the comments.
No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.
Several years later, one of the students was killed in
"Kargil" war and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never attended Funeral of a serviceman before. He looked so handsome, so mature. The place was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk. The teacher was the last one to bless .
As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. "Were you Sanjay's math teacher?" he asked. She nodded: "yes." Then he said: "Sanjay talked about you a lot."
After the funeral, most of Sanjay's former classmates were there. Sanjay's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher. "We want to show you something," his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket "They found this on Sanjay when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it."
Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Sanjay's classmates had said about him.
"Thank you so much for doing that," Sanjay's mother said. "As you can see, Sanjay treasured it."
All of Sanjay's former classmates started to gather around. Arjun smiled rather sheepishly and said, "I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home." Prithwiraj's wife said, " Prithwiraj asked me to put his in our wedding album."
"I have mine too," Rashmi said. "It's in my diary"
Then Deepali, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. "I carry this with me at all times," Deepali said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: "I think we all saved our lists"
That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Sanjay and for all his friends who would never see him again.
The density of people in society is so thick that we forget that life will end one day. And we don't know when that one day will be.
So please, tell the people you appreciate, that they are special and important. Tell them.

Secret of a happy marriage

Once X asked Y, "What is the secret behind your happy married life?"Y said, "You should share responsibilities with due love and respect to each other. Then absolutely there will be no problems."X asked, "Can you explain?"Y said, "In my house, I take decisions on bigger issues where as my wife decides on smaller issues. We do not interfere in each other's decisions."Still not convinced, X asked Y "Give me some examples"Y said, "Smaller issues like which car we should buy, how much amount to save, when to visit home town, which Sofa, air conditioner, refrigerator to buy, monthly expenses, whether to keep a maid or not etc are decided by my wife. I just agree to it"X asked, "Then what is your role?"Y said, "My decisions are only for very big issues. Like whether America should attack Iraq, whether Britain should lift sanction over Zimbabwe, whether to widen African economy, whether Sachin Tendulkar should retire etc. Do you know one thing, my wife NEVER objects to any of these".

Management - Moral Story

Once PVNR (PV Narasimha Rao), L.K.Advani and Laloo Prasad Yadav were travelling in an autorickshaw. They met with an accident and all three of them died. Yama Raja was waiting for this moment at the doorstep of death. He asks PVNR and Advani to go to HEAVEN. But, for Laloo, Yama had already decided that he should be sent to HELL. Laloo is not at all happy with this decision. He asks Yama as to why this discrimination is being made. All the three of them had served the public. Similarly, all took bribes, all misused public positions, etc. Then why the differential treatment? He felt that there should be a formal test or an objective evaluation before a decision is made; and should not be just based on opinion or pre-conceived notions. Yama agrees to this and asks all the three of them to appear for an English test.

PVNR is asked to spell " INDIA " and he does it correctly.
Advani is asked to spell " ENGLAND " and he too passes.
It is Laloo's turn and he is asked to spell " CZECHOSLOVAKIA ".
Laloo protests that he doesn't know English. He says this is not fair and that he was given a tough question and thus forced to fail with false intent.

Yama then agrees to conduct a written test in Hindi (to give another chance assuming that Laloo should at least feel that Hindi would provide an equal platform for all three).
PVNR is asked to write "KUTTA BOLA BHOW BHOW". He writes it easily and passes.
Advani is asked to write "BILLY BOLI MYAUN MYAUN". He too passes.
Laloo is asked to write "BANDAR BOLA GURRRRRR....." Tough one. He fails again. Laloo is extremely unhappy.

Having been a student of history (which the other two weren't),he now requested for all the 3 to be subjected to a test in history Yama says OK but this would be the last chance and that he would not take any more tests.
PVNR is asked: "When did India get Independence ?". He replied "1947" and passed.
Advani is asked "How many people died during the independence struggle?". He gets nervous. Yama asked him to choose from 3 options: 100,000 or 200,000 or 300,000. Advani catches it and says 200,000 and passes.
It's Laloo's turn now. ' Yama asks him to give the Name and Address of each of the 200,000 who died in the struggle. Laloo accepts defeat and agrees to go to HELL.

Moral of the story: IF YOUR MANAGEMENT HAS DECIDED TO SCREW YOU, THERE IS NO ESCAPE........

Stories

Have u ever wondered whats the best thing to do to earn money? What is that which will never be outdated and will always be in demand?

Writting Stories.
Yes. Writting Stories. Real challenge of writting stories is to write them in a way that they appeal for larger group of people.
(Rabindhranath Tagore stories such a hit coz they had universal appeal. He says human emotion is same anywhere in the world..and that is what he tried to touch through his stories)

Stories are everywere. Real stories, fitious, medical, crime stories, Love stories, Romatanic, short stories, moral stories, fiary tales, epics....many more types

We see stories in the form of Movies, Serials, News apart from readin stories in books. They are more in our lives than we actually realise.

They sell in all countries, among all religions and among all age groups. ..coz Human being is naturally curious for stories.

So...use ur imagination (which is specific to human among all the living beings) and try writting a story.
